Hours: 37 per week, 09.00 - 17.00
Contract Type - Temporary (3-6 months)

Our client, a large housing association, are looking for someone to join their busy team as a Drainage Technician
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Drain technicians are responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining sewer systems. Both internal and external pipes, some may require excavation to facilitate a repair. They would commonly work with a variety of equipment, in the process of clearing drainage pipes when blocked and maintaining all types of drainage systems.
Drain technicians may also be called upon to perform routine maintenance on the equipment they use in their daily job duties. This might include replacing parts as needed.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Cleaning drains using hand tools such as brushes, rods, and hoses
- Inspecting drain systems to locate clogs or leaks, using CCTV cameras to trace the problem areas.
- Installing new pipes and drainage systems according to match existing design specifications, by way of excavation to locate the failing drainage pipes. Locating any underground utilities prior to any excavation.
- Diagnosing problems with drain systems and identifying solutions to resolve them.
- Use of pipe cutting equipment to make accurate fitting solutions.
- Cleaning/descaling pipes of debris using high pressure water jets or alternative methods.
- Installing and repairing drain chamber benching and associated covers to drains.
- Maintain and update hand held technology to reflect works carried out.
- Ability to resolve problems when on site, and report back any findings.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, including all company vehicles and GDPR.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure the wearing of the correct PPE for the task being carried out.
Please note the successful candidate:
- Must have a valid UK driving licence (Vehicle provided)
- Must have knowledge of health & Safety in the work place
- May require a DBS check
- Must have experience in all aspects of drainage and plumbing
- Must be physically fit
- Must be comfortable working in confined spaces
- Is willing to work in all weather conditions
