SCL Tunnel Agent
Location: Bank
Salary: Up to £75,000
Key responsibilities :
- Manages all SCL tunnel works on site.
- Ensure works on site are carried out safely with due regard to the protection of the workforce, public and the environment.
- Report all construction issues to the Tunnel Manager
- Manages a team of Sub-Agents and Engineers and ensure all works are constructed efficiently, to the required quality and in accordance with the required contract programme.
- Ensure that all certificate, assurance and compliance certificates are generated and collated.
- Produce Weekly reports on site progress.
- Manage effective use of materials and control of waste.
- Responsible for managing the SCL construction teams.
- Ensures that all Safety procedures and documents are in place for the safe and efficient running of the tunnel works
- Prepares with the logistics manager the daily logistics cycle to efficiently operate the site.
- Ensures that requisitions are prepared and submitted in advance of the works and are delivered in timely manner.
- Providing information about the costs incurred (plant, labour and materials) and assisting the Commercial manager to prepare costs estimates.
- Ensuring all work are carried out in accordance with the IFC drawings
- Assist the tunnel manager to periodically carry out H&S inspections.
Mandatory:
- Have a good working knowledge of English, both written and verbal, and be able to report at management level.
- 10+ years soft ground tunnelling experience in urban environments/ 5+ years tunnelling experience including 3 years of SCL Primary Lining.
- Experience in medium / large size projects (SCL projects) in planning, packages procurement, set up and delivery of the works, supervision and coordination of the activities, working directly on site. Comprehensive experience with a Civil Engineering Contractor on large infrastructure or tunnelling contracts
- Experience of effective problem solving on major tunnelling projects.
- Comprehensive experience with a Civil Engineering Contractor on large infrastructure or tunnelling contracts.
- Good Knowledge All of building health and safety Acts
Desirable:
- Have undertaken CITB Site Manager Safety Training Scheme
- Experience of effective problem solving on major tunnelling projects.
- Have excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan ahead and manage own time.
