Corporate Security Officer

ONGOING CONTRACT POSITION

LOCATION : Wakefield
SHIFTS- 4-on 4- off
PAY: Up to £9 per hour


An exciting opportunity has arisen for security officers to work on a Prestigious Contract within the private sector.
We are actively searching for Security Officers, on behalf of a leading Facilities Management Company.

TO BE ELIGIBLE for the role, you must have the following:

Essential

  • A valid and current SIA Licence for Door Supervision
  • Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook user
  • Security Radio operations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience working in a customer focused environment or similar role
  • Knowledge of security techniques and procedures

 

Desirable

  • Experienced security officer
  • Previous experience of CCTV operation
  • Physically fit to withstand site patrol of at least 3hrs per shift
  • Prepared to work additional shifts when required

DUTIES for the Security Support Officer may include:

  • To always remain alert in the maintenance of the site’s integrity and in the protection of its assets.
  • Ensures the gate house and security help desk reception and inductions rooms are maintained in a state of continual operational readiness.
  • Control of all entrances of vehicles, visitors and contractors to site and site car parks.
  • Ensure that visitors and contractors:
  • are checked in and issued with an appropriate access pass.
  • are not allowed to enter the site unannounced/unauthorised.
  • are aware of what actions to take in the event of a site emergency.
  • surrender any source of ignition and any item encompassed within the sites prohibited and controlled items policy.
  • Conduct checks/searches on vehicles entering and leaving the site as required to do so.
  • Conduct checks/searches of contractor bags as required to do so.
  • Implement all Assignment Instructions and security operating procedures.
  • Control the issue and return/retrieval of keys which must be recorded in the key register.
  • Provide telephone support service during and out-with normal working hours.
  • Patrol the site during day & night working hours as directed by the security manager.
  • Operate two-way radio systems as required.
  • Carry out duties as detailed in the emergency procedure manual in the event of a site

emergency.

  • When necessary, carry out non-routine duties to which you are deemed safe and competent.
  • Keep security office and personal appearance up to the standards expected by the company and client
  • Operate computer in relation to security documents, reports, mail etc.
  • Operate and monitor CCTV. Downloading any footage which is required by the client or Security Manager
  • Reporting of building maintenance issues
  • Be professional, pleasant, friendly, courteous, helpful at all times whilst carrying out duties to the highest levels.
  • Aid third party contractors / visitors ensuring all site procedures / policies are adhered to.
  • Diligent management and maintenance of site records / reference materials including Health & Safety records, incident report records, daily report form and the daily occurrence book.
  • Record in the appropriate location any lost or found property and undertake it’s safe keeping and forwarding to the responsible party in accordance with the Assignment Instructions or standing operating procedures.
  • Record and count all vehicle and permit statistics where required to do so.
  • Working the Help desk reception area when required to do so designated by the Security Manager or someone deputising in his position.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business
  • Ensure a timely response to all security issues and events.
  • Understands the need to display a professional, polite, courteous and calm manner at all times.
