Grounds maintenance
Location - Falmer
Salary from £9.50 per hour up to £11.00 per hour
Monday to Friday - 8am to 5pm
Contract/ Potential Temp to perm
An established Leading facilities maintenance company are expanding their team and looking for Grounds maintenance operative to work within a commercial site.
Main duties as follows
- Remove litter and debris from all areas also periodic emptying of rubbish bins.
- To weed flowerbeds and shrubberies.
- To prune flowers, trees and shrubs in accordance with good gardening practice and to prevent foliage overhanging paths, roadways, drainage gullies, manholes, etc.
- To regularly cut lawns using assorted mowing machines with lawn edges to be neatly trimmed.
- To replace failed trees, shrubs and plants as appropriate.
- To carry out yearly seasonal planting to flower beds, planters and containers to provide year round colour.
- To water as necessary to prevent drying out, all plants etc, regardless of their location.
- To carry out minor repairs and preparatory works to hard landscaping e.g. concreting, slab laying.
- To use the Trust's vehicle on a regular basis, to transport materials and waste etc.
- To undertake training where necessary to obtain new skills/techniques
- To hand sweep all areas of hard landscaping as directed
- To operate the Trust road sweeper.
- To remove waste to the waste compactor and operate as necessary.
