Location - Ilford

Full Time
The fire Stopper is a key function within the Clients Fire Risk Assessment repairs team. Responsible for ensuring buildings are insulated and structurally protected from fire risk, you will work with compliance operatives and the wider maintenance team to deliver effective passive fire protection for all clients and key projects as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Effective auditing of existing fire protection measures and following up with necessary remedial and repair works as necessary.
- Installation of protective frames, fire-resistant walls and ceilings, structural protection to the frame of a building, such as dry cladding.
- Applying fire resistant treatments such as mineral sprays or intumescent.
- Constructing fire resistant walls and ceiling linings.
- Installing thermal and acoustic insulation, fire seals, cavity barriers and fire-resistant ducting.
- Checking and ensuring the highest quality works are carried out.
- Carrying out pre and post inspections as required to raise accurate works.
- Build an excellent working relationship with the client and their designated partners.
- Following technical drawings and plans.
- Using appropriate access equipment such as ladders.
- Adhering to strict health and safety guidelines.
- Identifying and use appropriate PPE as required.
- Ad hoc projects and duties as needed.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
- NVQ level 2 relating to fire protection/firestopping
- Asbestos Awareness
- FIRAS/FDIS Qualification (preferred)
- Proven track record in leading and delivering a Fire Stopping projects
- IT Literate with good knowledge of Microsoft packages
- Ability to understand client / contract requirements to maximise productivity and measure and improvement
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent understanding of H&S legislation
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
- Experience of managing and improving internal and external customer relationships
- Ability to use remote working equipment/PDA
