Inspection Technician
Greenwich, SE10 0AG
42.5 hrs per week
£11 - £14 p/h PAYE (+ hol pay, pensions and free parking)
Due to a huge ramp up in production, we are recruiting for Inspection Technicians on behalf of a global Engineering company, to work in a busy production environment in Greenwich, SE London.
Inspection Technicians are responsible for the Inspection of electro-mechanical & fibre optic assemblies of subsea communication equipment.
Basic training will be provided, but you must have experience gained within Inspection or QC roles and be competent working with Electronic assemblies.
Ideally, as an Inspection Technician you will either be educated in an engineering field or have worked within a similar industry such as; Telecommunications, Manufacturing, Production, Military, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Robotics, Automotive, Aerospace, Aviation, Precision Engineering or Prototyping etc. IPC candidates will be preferred but not essential for the role.
As an Inspection Technician you will be responsible for visually inspecting with the naked eye or microscopes - so MUST have previous experience listed on your application.
- Undertake visual inspection of assembled articles, manufactured by on site operators, ensuring all ESD product disciplines are adhered to and products are correctly built and tested.
- Use of magnifying glasses and microscopes to visually inspect quality of connections, assemblies, soldering and splicing. (Training for fibre splicing will be provided).
- Liaising with other departments and Supervisors to ensure the timely build and transfer of your product.
- Following Engineering diagrams to ensure Operators have adhered to written instructions.
- Ability to electrically wire units
- Provide a professional, courteous and efficient service to our internal customers.
- Work with team colleagues to ensure the workplace environment is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness, and complies with company and legislative standards at all times.
- Take reasonable care of both your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions.
- Ensuring all company safety and quality systems are followed and all relevant legislation complied with, raising concerns and reporting any incidents or suggestions to your line manager.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
- Possesses a good standard of numeracy and literacy, and IT competent.
- Good understanding of, and commitment to, safe working practices.
- Previous manufacturing, production, technical or engineering experience would be desirable
- Ability to commit to rotating shift patterns on a biweekly basis
ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN HOURS OF WORK (Vary dependent on department);
- Working initially onDAYS, this will eventually convert to a 4 day rotating shift pattern of 2 weeks of DAYS & 2 weeks of
- The working week will be either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday, depending on the department you will be working in.
- This would mean 6am starts for day shifts (finishing either 5.15pm or 5.45pm depending on the day) & 6pm starts for nights (finishing either 5.15am or 5.45am depending on the day).
