Shipping administrator

Location; Feltham

Permanent

Salary; up to £23,000 per annum

 

Our client is leading manufacturing company, looking for a shipping administrator to join their team.

 

The duties for the Shipping Administrator will be as follows;

Working in a very busy department, this person will be responsible for arranging Export and Import shipments with various freight forwarders and couriers to worldwide customers and to our subsidiaries.

 

  • Providing prices for quotation requests,
  • Preparing invoices,
  • Online forms and documentary credit requirements,
  • Ensuring required packing and documentation is provided for hazardous shipments. 
  • Liaising with the sub-contracted driver.
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of all relevant import/export law and procedures; tariffs and duties, licences and restrictions. 
  • Obtaining freight rates for relevant transport methods. 
  • Administering information required for HMRC INTRASTAT reports
  • Arranging UK courier jobs with the contracted driver based on site and dealing with other sub-contractor drivers, working on any exhibition requirements throughout the year.

 

Candidates should ideally have at least 3 years’ experience in an international shipping role with an understanding of tariff codes, Incoterms and experience of Letters of Credit.
