Supplier Quality Engineer

£14 - £16 per hour

Looking for a supplier quality engineer to investigate, analyse and resolve supplier quality problems by conducting audits and investigating component non-conformities. Would suit a person with engineering qualifications or experience, ideally involving process/manufacturing engineering, electronics or opto-electronics. Other engineering disciplines will be considered.

The key responsibilities for an supplier quality engineer would be :

• Ensure supplier quality issues are resolved with little or no impact to production.
• Introduce containment, corrective & preventive actions with suppliers in a timely manner.
• Monitor SQM KPI's & investigations database; participate in supplier review meetings.
• Function as a member of cross-functional quality investigation/improvement teams.

Key tasks for the supplier quality engineer would be:

• Auditing suppliers to ensure they deliver conforming material.
• Visiting suppliers to resolve quality problems
• Carrying our root cause analysis, developing preventive action plans & helping to determine liability.
• Investigating & recommending the disposition of suspect & nonconforming materials.

Requirements:

• Experience in a technical and/or manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of basic quality techniques (e.g. 8D, SPC, Control charts)
• Organised, disciplined & methodical approach to problem solving
• Strong interpersonal & team skills
• Articulate with good negotiation skills
• Motivated & able to work autonomously
• Intermediate level experience with Excel and Word.
• Experience with SAP systems.
