Recruiter (Trainee )
Teddington
£27.5K - £30K basic (Depending on Experience)
+ personal bonus / commission scheme
+ annual company bonus scheme
Full time, Mon to Fri
8 AM to 5pm (with early finish Fridays)
38 hours per week basic
24 days holiday (+ 8 bank holidays)

We deal with large, corporate clients in both the private and public sectors of the UK and we seek new Recruiters to join our friendly, successful team.

A Recruiter at CMS has three main duties;

  1. To source, validate and assist in the placement of temporary / contract workers and permanent staff at our client companies throughout the UK.
  2. To communicate with, liaise with and meet with representatives from our client companies in order to fulfil the recruitment service and develop the business relationship and commercial opportunities.
  3. To constantly deliver excellent customer service to our workers, candidates and clients alike.


Roles that Recruiters work on will be numerous and varied but the Recruiter will be required to demonstrate the same application and process for all posts. These will include;

  • Taking and understanding a full and comprehensive job description from the client or CMS Account Manager.
  • Searching internal and external databases for suitable candidates
  • Placing professional job adverts to attract new candidates
  • Utilising their own initiative to identify candidates
  • Assessing candidate suitability for role
  • Informing candidates of all aspects of the terms relating to the role
  • Interviewing, by telephone and online, prospective candidates
  • Arranging interviews and tests for candidates
  • Liaising and communicating with both the candidate and the Account Manager at all stages of the application process to ensure full information disclosure.
  • Assisting and providing info to the candidate re attending interviews
  • Facilitating any offer of work for the candidate.
  • Informing any unsuccessful candidates of their outcome and how it relates to their application.
  • Assisting in the collection of all documents/certificates/licences in relation to the workers application and start.
  • Assisting the Team Manager and colleagues at all times
  • Administration and IT duties associated with the role
  • Travelling to the client sites as and when required
  • To cross train with other members of the Team to ensure constant continuation of the services
  • To develop in the role in order to progress as a Recruiter.


In addition to placing candidates in varied roles, Recruiters will be required to show ability and acumen in delivering a service to existing clients, expanding the service to existing clients and also continuously identifying and maximising new commercial opportunities. These duties will include;

  • Meeting with clients and contractors at varied locations and sites.
  • Demonstrating the CMS service and delivery to contractors and the client
  • Identifying aspects of service that can be improved upon, or newly established
  • Understanding client needs and wants.
  • Identifying and investigating commercial opportunities.
  • Networking with all candidates, workers and clients to maximise opportunities.
