PURPOSE OF JOB:
Our client is looking for someone to join their busy team as a Multi Trade Operative, with a focus on carpentry experience. You will need a good customer service focus as you will be dealing with the general public in occupied properties. The right candidate will be able to work on their own or with a team where required, they will be someone who takes pride in their work and the service they are providing to others.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Carry out to the highest standard all aspects of repairs / renewal work to items in various trades such as ground works, carpentry, plumbing, glazing and finishing trades painting & decorating, plastering / tiling. Undertake a broad range of multi-skilled repair activities outside of the basic Multi-trade skills to provide a comprehensive repair service.
- Complete installations, repairs and maintenance work with a particular focus on work of a carpentry nature, including joinery and repair works which can include staircases, windows, doors and furniture.
- Identify and undertake technical work as required, including but not limited to inspections, testing, diagnostic work and installations.
- Work collaboratively with other operatives and teams to make sure we can address and
update the customer on all of their needs, not just related to the works you're there to complete.
- Always provide excellent customer service, taking the time to listen, understand and then
identify the best way forward.
- Carry out some minor after-trade work such as brickwork, plastering and basic plumbing.
- Complete work in accordance with the required specifications, current legislation, British
Standards, Codes of Practice, safe systems of work and recognised industrial standards for
such work, minimising damage to the fabric of the property.
- Make sure job orders are received, planned and completed on time and to the right quality. Receive and handle materials in line with safety requirements, using plant and machinery where required.
- Ensure any associated access issues are raised with relevant teams.
Requirement of applicants
- Previous experience in a similar all-round multi trade role within occupied properties.
- Ability to undertake associated trade tasks such as plumbing, carpentry, patch plastering, wall
and floor tiling, knowledge of UPVC repairs and installations
- Previous carpentry/joinery trade experience
- Ability to read construction drawings
- Clean UK driving licence
- City and Guilds in related grades or NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry or relevant experience
