Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location; North England
Salary £250-300 per day based on experience
Home based - Candidates must have a flexible approach to travelling around North England
Urgently looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyors to assist in the delivery of a variety of projects across the South West of England on behalf of a Multi-National Facilities management company.
Key responsibilities for the Assistant Quantity Surveyors but not limited to:
- Supporting the management team in reporting on risks - identifying and monitoring or risks at all levels - operational, financial, commercial, technical.
- Reviewing the contracts agreed to ensure that the requirements are met and being complied with
- Ensuring quality of service by using the awareness of contractual responsibilities
- Ensuring that efficiency's and service optimisation is utilised
- Enforcing commercial compliance for auditing purposes.
- Supporting the management of cash under their contract sector.
- Reviewing of sub-contractor performance
- Assisting and liaising with the buyers on supplier procurement and buying opportunities
- Measuring progress, submitting valuations, submitting final accounts and retention release and monitoring receipt of payment in a timely manner in accordance with the contracts
- Assist with estimates and negotiations for projects as and when required
- Attend project and company related meetings
What we are looking for
- Suitable commercial experience within a similar industry sector
- Educated to degree/ diploma level in Quantity Surveying
- Understanding and practical application of base UK law applicable to Commercial (Construction Act etc).
- Excellent financial acumen with an ability to analyse complex data and documentation with accuracy
- Sound understanding of risk analysis/management
- PC Literate with knowledge of MS applications e.g. Word, Excel
- Thorough knowledge and experience of Business Assurance systems.
Due to the nature of the contract requirements, you will also be required to go through a level of security clearance, and offer of employment is dependent upon your clearance.
