Switchboard Operator

Location North Durham

Temp to Perm

Hours of work 40 hrs per week

Training Provided

Annual rate up to £21,750

The Ideal candidate will be able to provide an effective, efficient, and responsive Switchboard service and to work under the direction of the Service Supervisor and Management staff to provide a safe environment within a healthcare setting on a fast paced contract.

Candidates must have a high level of attention to detail as the information inputted will be vital, must be happy to work within a team environment and calm under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • Operation of switchboard and bleep system
  • High volume of call handling, diverting calls accordingly
  • Operation of 24-hour call response
  • Porter help desk support
  • Ensure all calls are completed and as correct procedures are followed as required for things such as emergencies
  • Complete on call rotas and reports when needed
  • Ensure equipment is maintained or replaced as needed
  • Communicate with staff, managers, and supervisors as well as system providers

Training will be provided for this job role.

A level of clearance would be required for the successful candidate
